Erith Town 0 - 0 Fisher
Saturday 13 September 2014 - 15:00

Fisher were held to a 0-0 draw when they visited the SCEFL’s surprise strugglers Erith Town on Saturday.
In truth the game was as lacking in entertainment as it was in goals, although it wasn’t a complete write off for the Fish who did show some glimpses of promise and quality on a tough pitch against tough opposition.
The first real chance of the came for Fisher came 9 minutes in when Kieron Campbell saw a well hit shot go straight into the gloves of Erith’s goalkeeper.
Just shy of twenty minutes later, as Fisher continued to press forward, Harvey Hanifan released Alfie Roche who sent his shot sailing over the bar. As Fisher started to look the better side Nathaniel Bell broke down the left wing although the move didn’t create anything to worry the Docker’s defence.
With the scores reading 0-0 at the break, it became apparent that the game would either burst into life in the second half or continue down the rather dull road and end at 0-0.
The early stages of the second period showed more promise of goals than the entire first half, with Kieron Campbell narrowly missing his conection with a well-placed cross from Eku Deen.
Erith created chances of their own although the traditionally prolific Marcus Cassius appeared to have lost his touch, wasting a couple of superb chances to put the hosts in front.
Danny Maguire, who was fouled in the opening minutes and eventually had to leave the game with a dead leg, mustered a speculative long range effort which sailed harmlessly high and wide of the target. Eku Deen looked to have put the Fish ahead mid-way through the second half, but celebrations were cut short when the assistant referee controversially raised his flag for offside, much to the dismay of the Fisher fans in the crowd.
In an attempt to grab a goal, Fisher introduced Troy Abbey, but he was unable to make a difference to the score line.
In the end, a rather tame 90 minutes of football resulted in a point-a-piece which on reflection, Fisher should be pleased with considering that in their previous games against Erith Town, the Fish had tallied just two points out of 30.
