Woodstock Sports 1 - 2 Fisher
Saturday 25 October 2014 - 15:00

Fisher earned another three points on the road when they visited Woodstock Sports on Saturday.
In truth the game was a rather forgettable affair played out on a difficult pitch. Fisher started the game brightly and created a chance within the first minute, but couldn’t generate anything further from some quick approach play.
This became a developing theme through the first half as Piers Hanifan and Troy Abbey looked like causing great trouble down the wings, but a combination of over-playing and some solid defending from Woodstock reduced the Fish to just a couple of decent chances.
Woodstock created a few chances themselves but another commanding display from Adam Highsted kept them at bay throughout the first half. Fisher started to look a little less dangerous as the half went on as Piers Hanifan began to find progress difficult down the right wing.
In the 44th minute though, Fisher made the breakthrough courtesy of a superb curling strike from Junior James, hit from the edge of the box.
The game then became very broken down in the second half and both sides were guilty of a few fouls which restricted the play and saw Fisher’s Al-Hassan Oshilaja carried off with an injury. Woodstock went in search of an equaliser, and a well struck volley, albeit one that took a  deflection, in the 54th minute from George Blake saw Highsted beaten and pulled the Sports level.
It was late in the half that things started to liven up when Fisher began to press forward looking for a winner. The goal the visitors craved finally came in the 81st minute when Woodstock created trouble for themselves, failing to clear a dangerous looking ball, allowing substitute Mark Chiverton to place his shot perfectly past the mass of defenders between him and the goal, finding the to corner.
Minutes later things nearly got worse for the hosts as Troy Abbey broke forward, and came close to getting a shot away when he was fouled just outside the box. The offender got away with just a yellow despite appearing to be the last man between Abbey and the goal.
One last chance for the Sports, again from a free kick, came to nothing in the dying minutes and ensured a well-earned three points on the road and moves them up to 14th place with 14 points.
