London Senior Cup Second Round

Barking 4 - 1 Fisher
Wednesday 3 November 2010 - 19:45

Fisher’s defensive woes continued as they crashed out of the London Senior Cup on Tuesday night.
Despite once again enjoying spells of possession and pressure, Fisher were undone at set pieces as Barking progressed through to the third round.
Twenty minutes into the game, Barking took the lead as Fisher could only half-clear a corner. As the defence pushed out, the ball found its way to Sam Dennis who poked home from a position that had a hint of offside about it.
The Fish couldn’t complain about the second goal however, as from another corner keeper Adam Lisney elected to punch the ball clear, only to see the ball skim off his fists, strike Ben Jones, and end up in the back of the net. Barking added a third, yet again from a corner, as Lee Pyne’s excellent delivery forced Callum Roberts into attempting a header that unfortunately beat Lisney for an own goal.
After boss Gary Lisney expressed his displeasure at the performance during the half-time interval, the Fish improved in the second half. Rob Hughes and Juam Ramirez both put in outstanding performances, and Hughes pulled a goal back with an excellent free kick just after the hour mark. A second Hughes free kick from the other side of the box struck the bar, and the Fish were at least showing some more bite in attack.
However, Barking saved the best goal of the game until last, and Mark Doyle scored their fourth with an absolute screamer from thirty yards out, Lisney standing no chance of keeping out his fierce shot from the right-hand edge of the box.
