Greenwich Borough 5 - 1 Fisher
Saturday 15 January 2011 - 15:00

After the forced upon mid-winter break Fisher kicked off 2011 with a poor performance away at Greenwich Borough.
With the excellent pre-Christmas victory away at Beckenham a fast fading memory, Gary Lisney kept faith with forwards Elstrom Die and Dexter Babalola while Raphael Akala and Steve Sallis came in for the absent Halusi Mustafa and Robert Hughes.
Fisher began brightly, taking the game to Greenwich. George Savage had the away side’s first effort on goal inside 10 minutes but shot straight at Danny Firkins. However things went rapidly downhill on the sloping Oakley Park pitch for Lisney’s side. Danny Hunt benefited from a defensive mix up and slotted into an empty net with just twelve gone.
The impressive Peter Afolyan proved to be a constant menace for the hapless Fish defence and bagged a quick-fire brace on 21 and 26 minutes respectively – dancing through a flurry of half-hearted Fish challenges before firing past Adam Lisney on both occasions.
In the second period Fisher’s fortunes continued on a downward spiral as Hunt bagged his second with a looping shot leaving Lisney  rooted to the spot. Just two minutes later the rout was complete – Lisney failed to hold a long range effort and Frankie Warren was on hand to prod the loose ball home.
The Fish managed to bag a consolation five minutes from time, Isa Bangura bundling the ball home from a corner. Substitute Steve O’Donnell almost got a second late on when played through but Firkins pushed the resulting shot away for a corner.
Manager Gary Lisney locked the players in the dressing room for 45 minutes after the game and will be expecting an improved performance when the Fish entertain Corinthian at Champion Hill next Saturday.
