Fisher bowed out of the FA Cup despite a battling performance against Ryman Division One South side Ramsgate on Saturday.
Fisher started the lively contest well and caused several problems for their higher league opponents in the opening stages with Richard Morgan forcing Ramsgate defender Carl Munday in to two strong blocks early on.
Ramsgate had their share of early chances, and took the lead throughConnor Heffernan who saw his 20 yard piledriver sail past the outstretched arm of Adam Highsted and into the top corner to put the Rams ahead.
Three minutes later Fisher won a corner which, after the problems Beckenham caused last Monday, the Fisher faithful were hoping Danny Maguire would whip straight into the box. Maguire however took it short in what was a carbon copy of the pass that released Beckenham for their first goal five days earlier. Ramsgate broke but Fisher came out unscathed on this occasion.
In the 28th minute, Fisher were rewarded for their creativity when Junior James beat the offside trap, broke into the penalty area and calmly slotted home the equaliser.
Minutes later the Fish broke again, although they were perhaps a little guilty of over playing and Ramsgate were able to recover and deal with the danger. As Fisher continued to look threatening in their hunt for the lead, Eku Deen did well to get himself into a dangerous position, only to scuff his shot and watch the ball slide harmlessly wide.
Ramsgate could well have restored their lead before the break, when a similar effort to the goal sailed just wide of the far post.
Within minutes of the restart after half time, Ramsgate did regain their lead. A clumsy challenge gifted the Rams a penalty which Chris Elliott dispatched with ease to put the Rams ahead once more. Ramsgate seemed liberated after the penalty and looked like going on to kill the game off. Highsted did well to keep the Rams out for a while, but the visitors doubled their lead in the 63rd minute when a inch perfect pass from Chapman set up Ira Jackson who calmly nudged the ball home.
It took just three minutes for Fisher to claw their way back into the game, when Eku Deen created space for himself on the left and whipped in an well placed cross to Junior James who rose well to head home his (and Fisher’s) second goal.
The joy was short lived and Ramsgate restored their two goal advantage almost immediately when Tom Chapman fired what looked like a cross over Highsted and in to put the Rams 4-2 up.
Despite the best efforts of the Fish, including an unlucky shot from substitute Kieron Campbell which scampered just wide of the post, the scores remained at 4-2 in the visitors favour until the final whistle.
