FA Vase Second Qualifying Round

Hailsham Town 3 - 0 Fisher
Saturday 3 October 2015 - 15:00

A disjointed display from the Fish on Saturday saw them fall to a 3-0 defeat against a well organised Hailsham Town.
The Stringers took the lead after just ten minutes, when Jacob Shelton’s effort got the better of Denzil Kobia. The scores remained at 1-0 for the remainder of the first half as chances were limited by some solid defending from the hosts and some fortunate blocks from the Fish. Travis Gregory and Gassimu Jalloh were the shining lights amongst the Fisher line up, both working hard throughout the game.
Fisher introduced Veejay Miller at half time in place of Reion McFarlane, and the change seemed to have the desired effect as the Fish began to look more threatening down the left wing.
Ten minutes in to the second half, Sam Divall fired the hosts 2-0 up. Despite the Fish continuing to press, chances were at a premium, and debutant forward Benga Ogunseye was unable to find the target from the handful of chances that fell his way.
The introduction of Alfie Roche (who replaced debutant Besfort Sadiku) added pace but still the goal didn’t come for the Fish. Hailsham sealed the win after a deep free kick from the half way line was sent home by Danny Leach in the 72nd minute. The final change saw Taylor Thomas replace Shelton Gooden, and Thomas managed to create a dangerous looking chance, only to see his shot scream high over the bar in to the neighbouring tennis courts.
