Fisher 2 - 0 Deal Town
Saturday 3 April 2010 - 15:00

A brace from Luke Coleman made it five unbeaten in the league for Gary Lisney’s team.
Fisher made two changes from the side who pushed Croydon Athletic so close in the London Senior Cup last week. Cedric Abraham was asked to cover at centre back for the injured Lloyd Boateng whilst Louis Sprosen made way for Anthony Glover.
The Fish were slow out of the blocks allowing Deal Town to take the initiative to the home side. Town peppered Adam Lisney’s goal with speculative long range drives but the Fish stopper was rarely troubled. Fisher began to wake up as the half progressed using Elstrom Die’s pace to good effect down the right channel.
The first period looked destined to remain a cagey affair before Fisher broke the deadlock just two minutes before the break. A fine whipped in cross from Kris Hollidge was met by Coleman’s well timed leap powering a header into the roof of the net.
The strike seemed to settle the Fish down as the home team went on to boss the second half.
Three times the linesman came to Deal Towns rescue judging Luke Coleman offside from fine through-balls by Man-of-the-Match Bryan Glover. Elstrom Die did beat the offside trap on one occasion and his effort was spectacularly saved by the visiting custodian.
It mattered not however as in the closing stages an Antony Glover long throw caused panic in the box, resulting in substitute Declan Thompson’s overhead kick. The forward was unlucky to see his effort rebound off the inside of the post but Coleman was there to blast home from a yard out with the goal at his mercy.
Fisher’s number 10 was unlucky not to claim the match ball, just a minute later Coleman found space in the box with just the keeper to beat but the ball slid the wrong side of the post.
Fisher Manager Gary Lisney commented on the performance; ‘I was confident before the game and after the first fifteen minutes I felt it was there for the taking. The two goals we scored were well taken but that’s Coleman through and though, you can’t argue with his scoring record. Our work rate over the last month has been phenomenal and we go into the Norton Sports game with confidence’.
