Fisher’s 10-match unbeaten run came to an end thanks to Nathan Eastwood’s first-half goal at The Safety Net Stadium.
Eastwood’s strike came after 35 minutes when he cleverly flicked the ball off his right heel on the volley to slot into the bottom corner after being set up by a swinging cross from Simon Moore. The Bay had chances to extend their lead, but Fisher held on to go into the half time break just one goal down.
Early in the second half saw Herne Bay reduced to 10 men as the referee gave Gess a straight red card for a confrontation with Fisher keeper Adam Lisney. Fisher dominated in possession after the sending off as the player advantage began to effect proceedings but bar a couple of half chances from Luke Coleman and Elstrom Die, Fisher failed to pose enough of a threat to look like getting an equaliser.
The win for Herne Bay guarentees them 2nd place and leaves Fisher as they were in 12th.
