Fisher’s season got off to a disappointing start as goals from ex-Fisher forward Duke Binitie, Harry Draper and Adam Wadmore earned Greenwich Borough a convincing win at Champion Hill.
New signings Danny Young and Dexter Babalola as well as Captain Kris Hollidge were all unavailable for selection due to personal reasons so Gary Lisney was forced into making a few changes.
Jimmy Beachump deputised for Kris Hollidge at right-back whilst Callum Roberts stepped in for Danny Young in central defence and Rafa Akala partnered Joe Goodwin up front.
Borough had started the more assuredly, showing far greater composure on the ball early on.
Ex-Fisher striker Duke Binitie scored from a one-on-one with Adam Lisney to give Greenwich the lead with just four minutes on the clock.
But Fisher fought back well as the half wore on and finally got the equaliser they deserve when Joe Goodwin’s inch perfect square pass allowed Rafa Akala to fire home from twelve yards.
Fisher’s joy was short-lived however as poor decision-making from Adam Lisney when coming for a loose ball allowed Harry Draper to capitalise and regain the lead for the visitors just before the stroke of half-time.
A sweet 35 yard strike from Adam Wadmore late in the second half sealed all three points for Steve Firkin’s side and puts Greenwich on top of the Kent League table albeit after only the first game.
