Kent Football League

Fisher 1 - 0 Erith & Belvedere
Saturday 9 October 2010 - 15:00

Fisher snatched a last-gasp winner to take the points from a hard-fought Kent League match against Erith & Belvedere.
Mark Lewis was the man in the right place at the right time, as he fired home from in front of the net following a 90th minute goalmouth scramble.
Injuries kept Rafa Akala and Kris Hollidge out of the starting line-up, so manager Gary Lisney paired Steve O’Donnell and Dexter Babaola up front while Callum Roberts continued at right-back.
Fisher started brightly and enjoyed plenty of possession, but could not find a cutting edge in the final third. Lisney was forced into a change on the half-hour mark, as George Savage departed with a knee injury to be replaced by Luis Rozan. Rozan and Lewis formed an effective partnership on the left while Rob Hughes shifted over to the right wing.
The game opened up in the second half, and E&B enjoyed the better of the chances. Only some fine saves from Adam Lisney and poor finishing stopped the Deres from taking the lead.
Fisher continued to pass the ball around well in midfield, and the arrival of Juan Ramirez from the bench gave the team an outlet up front. From one of Ramirez’s mazy runs the Fish forced a corner, and Lewis was on hand to poke home the winner as the ball pinged around the E&B box.
There was still time for the Deres to miss another chance deep into injury time, but the Fish held out to secure an important home win.
