Fisher came home with all 3 points from their longest away trip of the season, as Halusi Mustufa headed home a last gasp winner in injury time.
Fisher’s travelling support were treated to an entertaining game, with both sides keen to attack and play football. Fisher set up with Dexter Babalola up front, supported by wide-men Rob Hughes and Rafa Akala, and bossed the early stages as the attacking trio found plenty of space. However the Fish could not turn this dominance into goals, as the Deal keeper made an outstanding save to rob Babalola in a one-on-one, and Akala shot high and wide from an angle with only the keeper to beat.
Deal threatened briefly from a string of corners, but the Fish defence, marshalled by the superb Cedric Abraham, held firm. Fisher finished the half as the better team with neat passing and clever movement allowing them to maintain a stranglehold on possession.
The second half was a more even affair, and while Fish remained dangerous on the break, Deal pushed forward and could have taken the lead as a shot bounced down from the bar and just in front of the goal line. Shortly after this scare, Adam Lisney was forced to pull off an outstanding triple-save, keeping three point blank shots out before the Fisher defence scrambled the ball clear.
Gary Lisney brought on Daniel Dean, George Savage and Joe Goodwin in an effort to turn the tide, and the changes worked as Dean worked some space on the right in injury time. His cross to the far post was met by Mustufa, who headed home to send the team and travelling support into raptures.
