Fisher emerged victorious in their first ever cup game after since reforming in the summer. The Fish were the better side in the first half and worked tirelessly for each other. Even though top scorer Elstrom Die was missing through injury the home side still had enough about them to race into a two goal lead. Tasser Hassan continued his fine form this season with a terrific free kick on the edge of the area with just 14 minutes on the clock. Hassan’s shot sailed over the wall and into the top right hand corner leaving the Tigers custodian grasping at thin air. The hosts continued to boss the first half and Lloyd Boateng was unlucky to be judged offside glancing home a header from just three yards out on the half hour mark. Fisher made their superiority count just two minutes before the break when more Hassan trickery sent the winger clear in the box who squared for Wayne Grant to make no mistake from close range.
The Tigers came out for the second half with intent and finally got the reward for their second half dominance when Hendrix pounced on poor Fisher defending to slide the ball passed Lisney with 12 minutes left. This set up a nervy finish for the home side but Gary Lisney’s team held on to ease their way into the second round where they will travel to either Harringey Borough or Erith & Belvedere.
