Crowborough Athletic 0 - 0 Fisher
Saturday 20 December 2014 - 15:00

Fisher’s first trip to Crowborough proved to be an enjoyable affair when the awkward journey was made on Saturday.
After a disappointing performance and defeat against Corinthian, Fisher regained their edge in midfield and upfront with Al-Hassan Oshilaja, Piers Hanifan and Troy Abbey all returning to action. The game started brightly with both sides looking to get forward early on.
Justin Lee was in fine form between the posts and produced several important saves throughout the game, the first of which came from a dangerous long range effort from Michael Ademiluyi.
At the other end, a combination of Troy Abbey, Nat Bell, Piers Hanifan and Alfie Roche caused several problems for Crowborough, although goalkeeper Nick Collick was able to deal with the handful of on target shots that Fisher threw at him.
As the first half went on, Crowborough began to take more control of the game and put the Fish under continued pressure, with some stout defending, a couple of great saves and more than a little help from the crossbar ensuring the scores remained at 0-0 until the break.
In the second half, the Crows continued to create chances, and continued to send them straight at Justin Lee. The only times Lee was beaten, the crossbar came to his rescue, and in total the Crows found the bar six times during the game.
With chance after chance going to waste Fisher continued to press for a goal themselves and Troy Abbey nearly capitalised as a poor clearance from Collick (who was well off his line) fell for Abbey to launch an ambitious effort from long range which only missed the target by a matter of inches.
Fisher were agonisingly close to making the breakthrough when substitute Martin Hunter broke forward and sent an inviting ball in to the box, but no-one could make contact and the ball scampered away for a goal-kick.
It became clear as the game went on that one goal would settle the game but with both goalkeepers, both defences and the crossbar on Justin Lee’s goal in fine form, neither side could make the breakthrough and had to settle for a point a piece.
