Greenwich Borough 2 - 1 Fisher
Saturday 18 April 2015 - 15:00

Fisher were punished for some first half profligacy as second half strikes from Paul Vines and Jamie Britnell saw Greenwich Borough take all three points at Princes Park.
The Fish reduced the arrears through substitute Kieron Campbell’s 89th-minute header, but they were ultimately left to regret several wasted chances to take the lead before half time.
The 4th-placed hosts made a good start to the game without testing returning Fish goalkeeper Charlie Payne.
They came close to finding a way through in the 6th minute though, when Dave Waters was forced to clear Jamie Britnell’s dangerous low cross at the near post with Paul Vines lurking.
Fisher’s first real chance fell to Ashley-Paul Sinclair on the 10 minute mark, the midfielder firing over from 20 yards after being set up by Jordan Adekunle.
Payne was called into action in the 22nd minute, as he palmed away Jack Clark’s fizzing delivery from a corner.
The Fish upped the ante in the last 15 minutes of the first half and could easily have found themselves three goals to the good at the break.
First Adekunle drifted past two defenders and saw his piledriver crash back off the underside of the crossbar, before placing a shot just wide of the Borough goal from 18 yards.
Sinclair then prodded Femi Akinwande’s right-wing cross against the base of the post with Greenwich goalkeeper Craig Holloway beaten.
The home defenders appeared to manhandle Fisher striker Luke Haidarovic on several occasions in the first half, but referee Tom Marshall offered the forward little protection despite his protests.
Borough improved after the interval and made the breakthrough 10 minutes into the second half thanks to a clinical finish from Paul Vines.
The striker latched onto Lewis Wood’s long pass, hitting an accurate shot across Payne and into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Fisher looked for an instant response as Akinwande burst into the box and exchanged passes with Sinclair before seeing his goal bound effort cleared for a corner.
The hosts then doubled their advantage with 25 minutes remaining, in part due to some lackadaisical Fish defending.
A Greenwich corner was only half-cleared by Mike Aziaya, allowing ex- Beckenham Town midfielder Jamie Humphries to knock the loose ball home from 15 yards.
It took Fisher a while to recover from the second goal, but captain Hassen Janneh nearly halved the deficit in the 74th minute following a storming run from defence – his eventual shot was blocked by defender Joe Vines.
Adekunle then raced to the by-line and stood up an inviting cross which was flicked across the face of goal by Haidarovic, but nobody was there to finish off the move.
Paul Vines nearly settled the match with 5 minutes to go, as he robbed McIntyre of possession just outside the Fisher box before rounding Payne and rolling the ball towards the net, only to see a sliding Kieron Tarbie come in to avert the danger.
Fisher sensed a glimmer of hope when all three of their substitutes combined to pull a goal back in the 89th minute.
Kieran Scantlebury charged into the Borough six-yard box and played a neat one-two with Alfie Roche before sending in a cross which Campbell headed in at the second attempt.
The away side poured men forward in search of a leveller but they could only muster a half-chance, with Sinclair blazing a 20-yard strike over the bar. It was just not Fisher’s day.
Following the rest of the weekend’s results, the Bermondsey side remain in 15th place in the SCEFL table.
