Sevenoaks Town 1 - 1 Fisher
Saturday 5 April 2014 - 15:00

Fisher earned another point on the road on Saturday when they battled to a 1-1 draw with Sevenoaks Town at Greatness Park.
Both sides showed promise early on, although it was Sevenoaks who created more chances, with Harry Smith forcing a good save from debutant Fisher keeper Harry Thorpe. The Oaks were awarded a corner but failed to create anything from it and conceded a free kick.
Kieron Campbell caused chaos for the Oaks all afternoon, outpacing and wriggling past the Oaks’ right back on numerous occasions. The most threatening of these runs in the first half set up a chance for Junior James, whose scuffed shot deflected behind for a corner, which was comfortably collected by Oaks’ keeper Charlie Mann who put in a fantastic shift for his team, showing a lot of skill and potential throughout the game.
Fisher’s best chance of the half came in the 37th minute, a fluent passing move on an uneasy, bobbly surface pulled Sevenoaks apart but the resulting shot scampered tamely wide of the target. From the resulting goal-kick, Sevenoaks broke forward and took the lead courtesy of a well struck effort into the top corner of the goal from Jamie Davis.
Fisher had chances to level the scores before the break, with James having a shot saved after Jay Garrick did well to fight his way into the box. The half time whistle sounded before Fisher could muster anything else of note.
During the break, Fisher replaced Charlie Gray with Kieron Burrell to add another dimension going forward and this worked well, and the visitors looked much more dangerous throughout the second period. Kieron Campbell forced another good save from Mann, just after the Oaks’ keeper was tested again, this time with a long range effort which could well have caught him off guard. Mann was up to task and did well to tip the ball past the post. The resulting corner was wasted by the Fish.
Fisher were awarded a couple of free kicks from threatening positions, and although the ever-reliable Danny Maguire got them into the box, no-one was able to make contact with them and Mann was left with easy saves.
Sevenoaks continued to move forward, although the usually dangerous Jermeel Jno-Baptiste (who scored for the Oaks in Fisher’s 5-1 win in the reverse fixture in October) had an unusually quiet afternoon, producing just a couple of efforts.
Kieron Campbell finally got the better of Charlie Mann in the 73rd minute. He slipped past the defence and slotted the ball between Mann and his near post to level the scores. Harvey Hanifan was called into action minutes later when he had to clear a Jamie Davis cross of the line. Fisher went in search of a winner, ultimately couldn’t get the better of a Mann for a second time.
