LENNY PIPER – RIP

We are saddened to learn that our former player, Lenny Piper, passed away this morning at the age of 46 after a long illness.
A hugely popular player at Fisher, Lenny was a former England school boy international, who started his career at Wimbledon and also had league experience at Gillingham, before dropping to non league football with Welling United, St Albans City and Farnborough Town. He signed for Fisher Athletic from Dagenham and Redbridge in March 2004 having spent much of that season on loan at Margate. He had a short spell at Tonbridge on loan in December 2004 before returning to Fisher and was briefly made caretaker manager in November 2005. In all he made 123 appearances for Fisher, scoring 32 goals, before moving on to Beckenham Town in 2007 and subsequently joining Ramsgate and Whyteleafe. In many of the Fisher games he played alongside his brother Chris.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with Lenny’s family and friends.
