Two late goals saw Fisher come back from 3-1 down to earn a draw with newly promoted Faversham Strike Force on a windy afternoon at the Belmont Ground. Fisher were hampered, not only by the difficult conditions but also illness in the camp that ruled out serval players at late notice. David Mata came in for his first start in place of Jake Lovell, and Ange Djadja and Jack Gibbons returned to the side after missing the midweek cup game with Don Macaulay playing an unaccustomed holing midfield role in place of Flavio Jumo. With Festos Kamara also ruled out, Tom Jones played as centre forward, with Omari Williams bolstering the midfield due to the absence of Michael Sarpong.
From the outset Fisher struggled with the gusting wind and found it hard to link play or find any width with the ball flying out of play to often. When they did finally settle a little, forcing a series of corners, they could not profit from the half chances the accidental low delivery of each presented, with no one gambling at the near post.
On twenty minutes, the hosts took the lead, somewhat against the run of play, following a needless free kick conceded out on the right touchline. An in-swinging delivery was met by Hayden Wood, rising highest in a mass of players and his looped header bounced in at the far post. Fisher looked to respond and some good play through midfield, for the first time in the game saw Tom Jones race to the edge of the box and unleash a powerful shot that was well saved by Glock in the home goal, with no one on hand to turn home the rebound. Good work on the left from Omari Williams also created a good chance that David Mata just failed to force home rushing into the six yard box.
It was a frustrated looking side that came off at half time, having really failed to find a way to cope with the wind. However what ever was said at half time sent the side out with more purpose and just two minutes after the restart they were level as Tyron Mbuenimo held the ball up well and slipped a fine through ball for Tom Jones, who surprised the keeper by taking his shot early from just outside the box, slamming it into the roof of the net. Parity did not last long though as Fisher self-destructed in the swirling wind and within three minutes they were behind again. A long thrown from the let billowed deep into Fisher six yard box and Alex Willis rose above the Fisher defence to nod the ball over Taylor and restore the home lead. Just past the hour mark it got worse for Fisher as a corner was awarded on the left and the deep delivery saw Baily Sinnock unmarked at the back post to head home, leaving Fisher players looking at each other in puzzlement as to whose man he was and where a challenge was.
Fisher had no option but to reshape and finally found a system that worked in the tempestuous wind. Don Macaulay came out of midfield into right back, with Jack Gibbons switched to play higher on the right, allowing him to run powerfully forward with ball under control and the directness of substitute Chris Ojemen on the left similarly saw Fisher able to carry the ball forward, with fellow substitute Nas Crespo adding some bite in midfield and Blake Loyza holding up play up top. Slowly Fisher inched back into the game, with better possession and started to carve out some chances. Ojemen hit the side netting when twisting in from the left and from more good play down the left, Crespo and Mbuenimo saw shots blocked, before Jack Gibbons powered home the rebound from fifteen yards out. The goal gave Fisher hope of salvaging something from the game and they continued to push forward. However, it took until the first minute of added time to get the breakthrough when having won a corner on the left they finally got the measure of the wind and sent in a perfect delivery that Lorenzo Duncan gleefully hooked home. Both sides looked for a late winer, Ojemen and Crespo found the side netting with efforts and Fisher finally showed they could defend repelling a late corner into the box to share the points.
