Fisher put in hardworking performance to edge out Step Four side Heybridge Swifts in their final preseason fixture, before the Southern Counites East Football League kicks off next week.

With a number of players still on holiday, the side was bolstered by some trialists, but still showed the strength in depth of the assembled squad as Fisher ran out worthy winners.

The only goal of the encounter came as early as the thirteenth minute, when a deep corner was nodded back across the goal into the net by a trialist, giving him his fourth goal of the campaign so far and ensuring his addition to squad later this week.

Both sides carved out decent chances in the first half that were well saved by the respective keepers, with a low driven Fisher effort looking the best of the efforts.

The second half saw the hosts keeper pull of a very impressive point blank save to stop Fisher doubling their lead as Jacob Katonia caused the Swifts plenty of problems, with some strong running with the ball in the final third. However, it took a fine late save from Tommy Taylor to preserve Fisher’s lead and seal a fourth preseason victory.
