A healthy crowd of 252 gathered at St Pauls today for the club’s community day. Which went down well with everyone who attended. Fisher entertained Deal Town who have a good start to the season sitting in 5th place in the table. Deal where also protecting an unbeaten away record. Fisher needed a home win today as they face two difficult away games next week. Firstly at Erith & Belvedere midweek and Glebe away next Saturday.

Fisher got off to a cracking start this afternoon when Lee Weemes swept the ball home from Inside the six yard box in the fifth minute. The chance came about when Cherradi was fouled after turning his marker 30 yards from goal. Temi Oladejo floated the free kick towards the far post before it was crossed across the six yard box. Main couldn’t get a clean connection but Weemes needed no invitation. It was Weemes first goal since his hatrick on the opening day of the season against Rusthall. 1-0

Julio Da Mata collects the ball in midfield and split the Deal back four with a clipped ball towards Isaac Thompson who ran at the Deal back four at pace. Fisher started well today and looked bang at it. Deal had started the slower of the two sides but a corner and a long throw into the Fisher box kept Fisher honest and on there toes.

Deal passed through the lines quickly and produced a quick snapshot of there own as the ball flashes across Carpaninis goal. 16 minutes in and Cherradi goes down under his own weight and is unable to continue. Malachi Coker replaces Cherradi, let’s hope Cherradi can recover quickly from what looks like a nasty injury.

Da Mata continues to pull the strings in midfield once again releases Thompson Down the left. Thompson beats his man and sends a fierce cross in that beats everyone rushing in.
More fine play from Fisher as Sarpong is next to dissect the Deal back four with a precise pass to Coker who attacks the full back before winning a corner. Thompson takes the corner but doesn’t beat the first man.

Thompson finds Coker with a cross field ball that has Deal number two Hark putting the ball out for a corner as he felt Coker breathing down his neck. Thompson’s far post corner was nodded back into the Centre of the goal by Sam Fitzgerald to Sarpong who scuffed his shot wide. Deal’s Troy Howard worked himself yard of space to get a shot away as he drove towards goal. Howard’s shot was hit with power but not accuracy as his effort goes over.

On the half hour Rene Rivera cut inside and sent in a vicious looking cross from the left that flew past everyone. The danger signs where there for all to see. Aaron Glasgow hooks the ball away for a corner when under pressure as Deal made an effort to get back into the game. The corner bounced around in the box a bit before dropping to Howard who turned and shot in one movement. Carpanini saved well from Deals first effort on target.

Thompson had a brilliant opening to the game tormenting and teasing Deal every time he got on the ball. Oladejo played the ball to Thompson and as he cut into the box he shaped to bend the ball into the top corner. His goalbound effort was well saved by James Tonkin high to his left as he sent Thompson’s out for a corner.

Thomson’s corner found Sam Fitzgerald at the far post. Fitzgerald headed just over but will be disappointed he didn’t increase the Fisher lead. Just as half time approached Coker showed four deal players a clean set of heels down the right before being crowded out.

A very good first half display from Fisher see them go in a goal to the good.

HT- Fisher 1-0 Deal Town

An early Deal chance is cleared up by Carpanini. Carpanini was to be very busy in the second halfs opening exchanges. In quick succession Howard had two more efforts that had the Fisher back four pointing fingers at each other.

Fisher stopped doing what had given them so much control in the first half. Which was putting a foot on the ball as wave after wave of attack from Deal put Fisher on the rack. Sam Fitzgerald had to be on his toes to hack a dangerous through ball away. Fisher did not start the second half well And this gave encouragement to Deal.

In particular Deal’s number 8 Murray who pulled the strings for Deal and was getting on the ball to much from a Fisher point of view. A Deal corner came about after a mix up between Carpanini and Glasgow. Carpanini claimed the ball to redeem himself. Carpanini continues his running battle with Howard pulling off another fine save.

Temi Oladejo leaves the files to be replaced by Seaman at left back. Deal look for more going forward as they take a defender off for an extra striker as they try and get back into the match.
Weemes had run his race and he takes a well earned rest as Udo takes his place up top.

Malachi Coker collects the ball on the right and knocks the ball past his marker before running round the other side of him and collects the ball. Coker looks up and cuts the ball back to Thompson. Thompson side foots his shot towards goal but Tomkins gets down well to his right to pull off a cracking save.

Murray clips a neat ball down the right towards Howard who manages to draw a foul out of left back Seaman. Penny steps up to take the free kick that clips the top of the wall and out for a corner. Big Sam Fitzgerald is once again on hand to clear the Fisher lines.

Deal still press for an equaliser as Alfie Foster turns Michael Sarpong one way then the other before his 20 yard effort goes just wide of Carpaninis left hand post. Deal’s Wilson makes way for Chapman.

Despite being under pressure for much of the half it was Fisher who scored a decisive second goal in the 75th minute. Coker who had played well since his early introduction collected the ball from a set piece before smashing a low cross from the right to Udo who smashed home from 8 yards. 2-0

Three minutes later and the game was put out of Deals reach when Luke Thomas headed away from his goal to Harry Main. Main the birthday boy launched a Hail Mary upfield that Christian Udo did superbly well to get under control while being under pressure from his marker. Not only did Udo control the ball he picked out Thompson with a neat pass. Thompson picked the ball up without breaking stride used the defender as a guide to bend the ball around him right footed and into The corner from 20 yards for a cracking strike and all three points. 3-0

With the game looking like Fisher had all three points in the bag there was still time for Fitzgerald to clear his lines once again from another Deal corner. As the final whistle approached Coker played in Harry Main as the ball sat up nicely for him Main shot from the edge of the box into the keepers arms.

FT Fisher 3-0 Deal Town

A massive three points for Fisher with some tough away days on the horizon.
