Fisher completed their season with a resounding 6-2 victory over K Sports at St Pauls to ensure they remained unbeaten in the final month of the season, continuing their current goal rush in the process.

With keeper Tommy Taylor on international duty with the England six-a-side team, there was a debut for goalkeeping coach Shaun Alfred and Darnelle Bailey-King returned the the starting line-up after missing out in midweek due to work commitments.

It took Fisher just forty five seconds to take the lead as a quick free kick released Bailey-King in the right and getting a yard of space he whipped in across that the keeper first appeared to hold but then the slipped form his grasp and Julio da Mata was on hand to stab the dropped ball home.

Whilst Killick headed a good chance for the visitors into the side netting, Fisher looked well in control and a second goal seemed imminent. Sarpong and Katonia were pulling the strings in midfield with da Mata having a free role to roam and often found pockets of space the K Sports defenders could not close.

Thompson went close with a shot that he pulled just wide and he spurned a second chance to play in Katonia as Fisher pressed. He was shortly on the score sheet however as Luzolo was felled in the box and with Taylor away so unable to add to his penalty last week, Thompson reverted to spot kick duties to notch his twelfth goal of the campaign.

Just before the half hour mark Fisher pretty much wrapped up the game as Luzolo out muscled Nzimbikany to run onto a through ball and calmly converted as the keeper came out, in an attempt to close him down.

A fourth could easily have turned up before half time as Thompson fired over when Bailey King had slipped him in as the k Sports left back really struggled to get to grips with the mesmerising feet of the Fisher wide man.

The half time break saw Fisher in total control with a three-goal lead but wary of being int he same position in the away fixture earlier in the season and only just holding off a spirited second half comeback from the Paperboys. Fisher therefore looked to start the second period strongly and within two minutes should have added a fourth when Luzolo ran onto a Katonia through ball and rounded the keeper but couldn’t organise his feet to get the shot away and the change went begging. The miss became more glaring when a few minutes later K Sports conjured a goal out of nothing. Stand in keeper Alfred only kicked air as his statuesque defenders looked for him to clear a very tame through ball and the ball rolled gently into an unguarded net. He redeemed himself moments later with a fine smothering save and a second good block save as K Sports had their best spell of the game.

However any thoughts of an unlikely comeback were quickly dispelled as Temi Oladejo surged down the left and his low cross was fed back to Da Mata who teed up a shot in the turn and fired the ball into the roof of the net to restore Fisher’s three goal advantage.

Bailey-King was leading his marker a merry dance and despite the visitors doubling up on him he was still able to jink clear on several occasion teeing up Luzolo and Katonia for great chances.

The visitors again looked to find a way back into the game a skipper Killick shot low into the far corner to reduce the arrears midway through the second half.

Fisher brought the fresh legs of Hoy and Shoderu to ensure they didn’t lose the stranglehold on the game and Shoderu quicky had two good chances, a shot being blocked and header from another wonderous it of wing play by Bailey King twisting past his beleaguered marker and crossing to perfection.

The fifth arrive five minutes form time as Thompson, who had moments earlier been denied by a good save raced into the box and shot powerfully, low into the far corner. Fisher then rounded off the scoring in the final minute with the best goal of the game and possibly the season as Thompson picked the ball up on the wide left, drifted inside and from the edge of area worked space to fire a thunderbolt of a shot that cannoned in of the cross bar.

The win rounded off a six-match unbeaten run which has see 23 goals scored and if manager Ajay Ashanike can keep this squad together showed great promise for next season.
