Match Preview – Fisher v Lydd Town

After our midweek win in the Macron SCEFL Challenge Cup, on Saturday we welcome Lydd Town of SCEFL Division One to St Paul’s in the Kent Reliance Senior Trophy First Round. The Fish will be looking to build on the assured performance against Snodland Town midweek with another positive result as Abbo and the boys get the season back on track.

Lydd Town currently sit in in 10th place in the Division One table, with 5 wins to their name this season. Liam Smith’s side have lost their last two games (home to Forest Hill Park and away at our recent visitors Snodland Town), with one draw and two wins making up their last 5 results. They will be looking to get back up the table, having finished 8th in the Kent Invicta League last season.

Top scorer James Everitt is likely to be leading the line for Lydd, with 8 goals to his name this season. Captain Ryan Smith has 5 from the back, whilst the impact of new signing Max Morgan from Sheppey United is yet to be seen.

Turnstiles will be open from 1.45pm as usual, with the Clubhouse open for hot drinks (including the hugely popular new additions of Hot Chocolate and Bovril), soup, soft drinks and snacks. Unfortunately due to a licensing issue there will not be any alcohol available on Saturday, but the bar will be back in action in time for the Deal Town fixture.

The Fisher Super Draw will be back with the chance to win £25 and you can get involved as a Member for just £10. Programmes will be available for £1.50. The Fisher Club Shop will be open in the Clubhouse with some last bits of old memorabilia including match posters, programmes and badges; you will also be able to pre-order the new Fisher Scarf for just £8 to ensure your neck is both warm and stylish this winter!
