Match Preview – Cray Valley PM v Fisher
“We go again” was Dean Harrison’s message to the players and fans after last weekend’s 0-3 home defeat against Bearsted. The Fish have an opportunity to get back off the bottom this weekend away at 8th place Cray Valley PM, hoping to capitalise on any lack of focus that might come with the host’s moment in the spotlight this week following goalkeeper Jordan Carey’s reaction to seeing the ball cross the line in a 2-5 home defeat to title challengers Ashford United.
Coming into the game The Millers have picked up 8 points in their last 5 league games, alongside exiting the SCEFL Challenge Cup at the hands of Ashford United, turning over Welling United in the London Senior Trophy and booking their place in the final of the Kent Senior Trophy after beating Deal Town on penalties.
Back in September the visitors took the points under the lights at St Paul’s, winning 0-3 after scoring 2 late goals to break up a spirited Fisher performance. Top scorer Aaron Jeffery opened the scoring that night, one of 16 goals to his name in all competitions this season. The other scorers that night are also riding high in the scoring charts, Denzell Gayle sitting on 9 for the campaign and Leigh Bremner on 7.
Transport to the Badger Sports Ground is looking somewhat problematic tomorrow with both Lee and Mottingham stations appearing to be out of action; we suggest travelling to Eltham, from where it is about a 20 minute walk to the ground. Alternatively, head towards SE9 5HT if you are under your own steam.
