Match Preview – Tunbridge Wells v Fisher

It’s third time lucky as we travel to the Culverden Stadium tonight, where we hope there will actually be a game of football! Spirits are high in the Fisher camp going into another crucial game at the foot of the table, with Dean Harrison looking to make the most of the momentum gained from Saturday’s 2-0 win at home against Lordswood. Whilst that victory didn’t lift the side of the bottom of the table, things are getting very tight now – just two points separates the four sides fighting for survival. With that in mind, a win this evening against a Tunbridge Wells side who could yet be drawn back into the relegation fight would lift the Fish out of the drop zone.

Jason Bourne’s side have had mixed form of late, picking up 2 wins, 2 defeats and a draw from their last 5 games, including a 5-0 thumping away at Canterbury City. At home the Wells have lost three of their last five, so the Culverden is certainly not an impenetrable fortress. It was a 1-3 turnover when Tunbridge Wells visited St Paul’s back in September, back in the days when we were inevitably a goal down within the first 5 minutes; Montell Agyemang scored for the Fish that day.

Forward Josh Biddlecombe is one of the top scorers this season for The Wells with 6 in all competitions, alongside Ollie Bankole (5) and current top scorer Ryan Crandley (7) – both of whom scored in the 1-3 at St Paul’s at the start of the season.

The all important postcode for the Culverden Stadium is TN4 9SG. By public transport head to Tunbridge Wells station, then pick up the the number 7 or 402 bus to Culverden Down from where it is an 8 minute walk to the ground. As ever, your support makes such a difference to the team and we need that legendary Fisher Faithful cheer to keep the boys going.
