What else you gonna do on a bank holiday? Match preview

  • Monday 28 August: Fisher vs Stansfeld – 3 pm kick off details here

As footballing weekends go you couldn’t ask for more – three days off work, two cracking games on the cards in glorious weather with a sunday rest day in between – this is what bank holidays are made of.

First up is a short trip over Welling for a classic south London derby with Erith & Belvedere. Fisher are in desperate need of a win, if anything just to settle the nerves. Can’t be easy going into this game without any points on the board. It’s been a challenging start to the season and we won’t get any favours off Erith who are looking to improve on their current seventh place standing.

And on paper this looks like a difficult one to overcome, but it will do the lads a mountain of confidence to come away from this game with three points.

Which would neatly set us up for the big monday home match with Stansfeld. Weather forecasters are predicting it’s going to be the hottest day of the year, so it’s shorts and bucket hats and a carnival atmosphere down at St Paul’s for what will hopefully be a celebratory afternoon of classic Fisher football.

Sounds obvious but the more fans we get down at St Paul’s the better the boys play.
