Non League Day Saturday 13-10-18

Fisher are proud to put our name to this incredible initiative – last year we had our highest season attendance at Fisher for Non League Day, so it’s always a good day out at St Paul’s, but where ever you are on saturday makes sure to take in a non-league game, and if you happen to be around in London we’d be more than happy to make your day a special one with an afternoon of brilliant Fish football and some South London hospitality.

Non-League Day was set up by James Doe in 2010 as a social media experiment, after being inspired by a pre-season trip to Devon to watch Queens Park Rangers play at Tavistock. It has now grown to become an annual part of the football calendar, backed by Premier League and Football League clubs, MPs, celebrities, media organisations, charities and most importantly the non-league clubs themselves and the fans who turn up on the day.

Always scheduled to coincide with an international break, Non-League Day provides a platform for clubs to promote the importance of affordable volunteer led community football while giving fans across the country the chance to show support for their local non-league side.

Some of the things we will have on offer are:

  • vintage Fisher programmes for sale
  • free copy of the November issue of When Saturday Comes for the first 100 people through the turnstiles
  • free souvenir matchday A3 posters for the first 50 people through the turnstiles (after that they’re being sold for £3 each)
  • free hot drink with a Fisher twitter token – anyone with a Ground Hopper related Twitter handle (see here for details: https://twitter.com/Emma_FisherFC)
  • A showcase of our History, Football ground photo exhibition and memorabilia in the clubhouse
  • fresh batch of the classic Fisher enamel pin badges on sale
  • local artisan craft cider on offer in the Fisherman’s Rest – Hawkes of Bermondsey London’s first urban cidery and based here in the heart of South London
  • Fisher legendary meat pies – the envy of the SCEFL, “every bite is a meal in your mouth” – Nigella Lawson
  • a guaranteed great game of football!
