Shiny new membership cards and new season tickets pocketed. It’s a time to be optimistic as every football supporter knows at this time of the year. Your team could do anything over the next ten months.

It’s our time to dream!

New Fisher manager Allan Fenn decided to field a different side in each half.

Fenn is looking to whittle away the rough edges and put a competitive side out for the coming season.

Some players will not make the cut and other players will emerge when you thought they were not good enough that’s the nature of the game.

On show today was plenty of individual talent that Fenn and his team now need to mould into a functioning football team.

I won’t mention any names at this stage purely because 90% of the players on show today were new signings. And I don’t think the names matched the shirt numbers on the line up board.

Five or six look shoe ins already for me it’s just how Alan decides to set his side out.

With a few more players to return to the fold and another five or six players who didn’t get changed today competition for places is certainly high.

The game itself was a getting to know you fest as players put into practice what they have been doing in training.

The first half was played at a very slow tempo with both sides not offering a great deal.

The second half and team two from Fisher looked the better side for me. The centre forward certainly has something about him and a good showing from the wide men kept Sutton’s back four busy.

It was Sutton who came closest to scoring when they hit the post in the second half.

Sutton themselves had a very young looking side out today. And I think they will be reasonably pleased with their afternoons work.

Fisher worked the Sutton keeper on a few occasions and several times intricate play on the edge of the box just came undone with the final ball or shot.

Final score 0-0

Fisher go again Wednesday night against combined counties opposition in the shape of Kensington & Ealing on Wednesday 8pm kick off.
