Report: A bumper crowd were in attendance at St Pauls as Fisher took on Tunbridge Wells in a mid table clash. Fisher named new signing Morgan Seaman on the bench and Lee Weemes returned to the starting line-up after holiday as they adopted a 442 formation. Cristian Portaresco came in at right back for the suspended Michael Sarpong.

The game started at good pace with both sides trying to get forward, but it was Carpanini in the Fisher goal who was the busier. Courtney Swaby had an early chance for the Fish but it was easily claimed by the Tunbridge keeper and only some good defensive blocks held up the visitors with Portaresco and Fitzgerald both clearing on their own goal line.

The opening goal arrived on 17 minutes as Fisher allowed Tunbridge Wells to recycle the ball around the edge of their box and Kyran Lightfoot found a pocket of space to chip into the top corner. Fisher’s response was immediate and within two minutes they were level as Coker’s good work on the right wing allowed him to send in a low cross which Christian Udo acrobatically swept home for his third goal in two games.

Fisher then had their best spell of the game as Weemes and Udo again went close and Swaby sent in a low drive that was scrambled clear by a combination of the keeper at the foot of the post.

The second half saw Tunbridge take the ascendency. Carpanini saved well early in half as the Fisher back four soaked up some pressure with Fisher looking into play more on the counter. Coker and Swaby both saw chances easily saved by the Tunbridge keeper as by the hour mark the game seemed likely to end a draw.

However the withdrawal of a tiring Swaby on the wing took away some of Fisher’s attacking intent and injuries in the back line needing Aaron Glasgow and Temi Oladejo to be withdrawn. This coincided with Tunbridge bringing on the prolific Matt Gething which saw the game suddenly change. With fifteen minute left Tunbridge took the lead as a cross from the right was tucked home by an unmarked Gething. Fisher responded by going to three at the back with substitute Adewunmi thrown up front but this left gaps at the back who Tunbridge ruthlessly exploited adding a third on 85 minutes and Gething notching his second a minute later to suddenly turn an even game into a 4-1 win for the visitors.  A harsh score line for the Fish but a lesson in finishing chances when they turn up.
