AWAYDAYS: Welling Town v Fisher – Sat 26 Feb 22

Back to saturday afternoon football and a short trip down the Thames to Dartford where we take on Welling Town in a tasty south london derby game.

HOW TO GET THERE
Despite the name, Welling Town play their home games in Dartford at Kent Football United’s ground. Efes Stadium is located on the edge of the sprawling Dartford Central Park just south of the town centre and train station. it’s a short commute from south London by car or train, so well worth the trip out to see the Fish in action.

CAR
Straight run all the way to Dartford from south London – take Shooters Hill Road (A207) from Greenwich which links you directly with Dartford town centre. When you get to the centre of town just follow the signs for Dartford Central park and the ground is situated on the leftside of the park on Lowfield St.

TRAIN
Closest station to the ground is Dartford. Cheapest fare from London is £10.60 – Off-Peak Day Return, and the journey time is between 40-50 minutes depending which station you leave from. Check here for times and ticket purchases: https://www.thetrainline.com/

It’s just over half a mile walk to the ground. Turn right out of the station and follow the approach road to the roundabout where you go right onto Home Gardens. Then turn right at the junction with Overy Liberty and follow the road all the way down to Lowfield St and the entrance to the ground will be on your left hand side.

BUSES

The Boots sit directly beneath us in the league just a point behind. We’re pretty evenly matched all things considered although they seem to be struggling with home results this season which opens the door for us if we can remained focused and ready. Which is where the noisy travelling support comes into its own. A decent away support, getting behind the team always tips the balance in our favour. If we can increase tavelling fans the better chance we have have of taking a result back home with us – only logical. If you can make it, we’d love to see you down in Dartford this weekend
