Chris Hiscock wins London FA Coach of the Year (2024)
London FA are proud to announce that the winner of Coach of the Year (Male Pathway) for the 2024 Grassroots Heroes Awards is Chris Hiscock!
Chris is Club Chairman and U15s coach at Fisher Youth which started over seven years ago as part of Fisher FC, when the club had nearly lost all their youth football after relocation. On return to St Paul’s Stadium, Chris has overseen the growth of the club from two teams to a team every age group, with now 150 children wearing Fisher FC kits. He has established a partnership with Millwall Community Trust, supporting Fisher FC coaches to deliver sessions with Millwall as well as forming an U18 Fisher team from the community trusts post-16.
Chris’ goal was to grow community football in Bermondsey and provide more clubs locally in the borough. He has worked to establish Fisher as a community club where young children can showcase their talents in a safe environment. This year, Chris has worked to establish the clubs first ever girls’ team at U12s in the hope of continuing to grow the female pathway at Fisher. It has been a huge amount of work over the past seven years but due to Chris’ dedication, the club has created a place for local children to play football, have fun, and create lifelong friendships.
All that Chris promised, he has delivered. He has supported football at the club, both administratively as a chairman, and as a coach for the U11s boys’ side. He is a brilliant coach who does everything with a smile on his face. Chris is the driving force behind Fisher FC becoming the established community club it has grown to be.
