Club Statement – Abbott departs

Fisher FC have this evening spoken to Gary Abbott to inform him that he is to be removed from his position as First Team Manager. Following seven straight defeats in all competitions, culminating in today’s 2-4 home defeat against SCEFL First Divison side Glebe in the Kent Reliance Senior Trophy, the Board recognise that a change is needed to ensure the Club remain in a competitive position in the relegation battle at the foot of the Premier Divison.

Fisher would like to thank Gary for his efforts whilst with the Club, and the important role he has played in helping the side find their feet at St Paul’s. Gary worked very hard for the Club and the Board recognise this, but ultimately the manager needs to deliver results and unfortunately they have not come this season. We wish Gary well for his future career.
