Match preview: Fisher v Lydd Town

A home return after another impressive away win against Thamesmead last saturday. [Read the full match report here:] And The Fish are looking to build on the last two victories with another win against Lydd.

There is a renewed sense of purpose in the way the team are playing at the moment, which is not only reflected in the results but the all-out attacking football which has been a pleasure to watch as the team have grown into a formidable force edging closer to promotion.

A point separates Fisher and Lydd in the table which could suggest a close fought game. The real difference is Lydd have played and lost three more games than Fisher plus the fact we beat them away convincingly back in September [Read the full match report here:].

All the signs are looking good for another brilliant Fisher performance, so get down to St Paul’s early, enjoy some pre-match refreshments in the clubhouse and get behind the team.

Nearest train station: Rotherhithe (on the London Overground).
Turn left out of the station and the stadium is roughly 10 minutes walk directly along Salter Road.

Nearest tube station: Canada Water (on the Jubilee Line).
From the station you can either turn left on Surrey Quays road, then right at Lower Road and take a right turn onto Brunel road at the Rotherhithe Tunnel roundabout which then turns into Salter Road past Rotherhithe station.

Or go right along Surrey Quays Road then a left turn onto Salter Road the other way. Both options will take you around 15 mins to walk to the ground.


There are two buses that take you to St Paul’s
C10 (single decker)
both drop you off by the ground in either direction (see route map below)


Nelson Dock Pier is 15 minutes walk away, served by River Bus 4 from Canary Wharf.
