Match preview: Fisher v Phoenix Sports Res

Back to the job in hand – the league title. Mid-week evening football under the floodlights of St Paul’s is the perfect way to put the misery of the last couple of games behind us and return to our winning ways with an eye on catching Punjab United and putting us in contention for promotion. Only eight points between us (with a game in hand) – this is where discipline and focus are as necessary as skill and determination.

And if last saturday’s game showed us anything it’s that we certainly have the character – heads don’t drop at Fisher. If we can apply that same gutsy fighting-back-against-the-odds attitude to the title chase then there should be no stopping us.

Phoenix we know have a professional set-up and won’t come into this game lightly. Despite being low down in the table, and a recent run of poor results behind them, we can’t be complacent – every match now is pivotal, and nothing can be taken for granted.

What the Fish do need more than anything is strong support from the fans. It’s your club, come down this Tuesday and make your presence felt.
