Fisher FC Mini-Soccer report from Glebe Summer Tournament

Last weekend saw the first action for Fisher FC’s new Mini-Soccer teams, with the newest members of the Fisher Family making their debut appearances in the famous black and white stripes.

Training commenced for the youngsters in mid-May in Southwark Park, and we are now close to the point of being able to field two squads at Under 7 and Under 8 levels.

A selection of players from across the new Fisher sides combined to compete in the Glebe FC Summer Tournament on Sunday 18 June. The Fish were represented by two five year olds, five of the Under 7s and two from the Under 8 squads, with the players taking to the field for theirs, and Fisher FC’s, first competitive games of Mini-Soccer.

Whilst results did not go our way, with the Young Fish losing all four of their matches, the day was anything but unsuccessful. Every parent and every child came away from the Glebe Tournament with enormous smiles on their faces; for the parents seeing the children playing football for the first time must be considered a memorable moment in time.

Everyone at Fisher FC welcomes the new squads to the Club, and look forward to seeing the youngsters and their families becoming part of the Fisher Family as we continue to develop as a Community Club.
