Fisher opened their preseason programme with an entertaining 3-3 draw against Combined Counties South side Redhill at a sunny St Pauls A bumper crowd of 193 saw a new look Fisher side come from behind in the second half to share the spoils in a good early workout for both sides.
Despite many new faces and trialists in the starting eleven Fisher settled in the game well with Michael Dare and Joseph Koroma both looking lively on either flank, each sending in low shots just wide of the respective far posts having out run their markers.
In midfield Joe Molloy looked industrious as Fisher secured pliantly of ball with Jehovany Kinzonzi also looking lively. It was Kinzonzi who opened the scoring after twenty minutes, turning well on the edge of area to make space to squeeze a low shot between the keeper and post.
On the half hour the visitors drew level when a low cross from the right was deflected onto a forwards outstretched leg and the ball squirmed in off the far post. Five minutes later the game had turned right around as Redhill went ahead with a mix up at the back saw the ball bobble into an unguarded net with a Fisher player providing the last touch.
The second spell saw a number of changes and Redhill settling the better. A long throw into the Fisher box from the right was allowed to bonce and found its way to a Redhill forward to fire home from close range.
A further set of changes then seemed to do the trick for Fisher with Nader Zeddini controlling the centre of the park well and Sineen Sineen providing a good supply from the wing. Sineen’s mazy run and pull back found Thomas Ngegba who turned well to lose his marker and fire home to halve the visitors lead with fifteen minutes to go. Five minutes later the game was all square at three a piece when Sineen sent over a well flighted corner and with the ball evading the grasp of the keeper Joseph Koroma leapt highest to powerfully head the ball home.
Fisher finished the game the stringer and had several threatening moves in search of winner, Ngegbe firing into the keeper’s gloves and Manny Shoderu sending in a rasping drive from distance, but Redhill stood strong as an entertaining game came to a close.
Manager Ajay Ashanike will be pleased with how the young side shaped up against an opposition containing many experienced step five players and will look to run the rule over some more trialists in Tuesday evenings fixture at Hackney Wick.
